Julian (Cole Sprouse) is all grown up… and totally overwhelmed. After a heartbreaking personal loss, he’s left raising his own young child with no idea what he’s doing. Desperate, he turns to the one man who once parented him with questionable wisdom and a lot of heart: Sonny Koufax (Adam Sandler), the original slacker dad who made it all up as he went.

Now older, only slightly more mature, and just as unpredictable, Sonny jumps back into the chaos with his usual offbeat methods—teaching Julian that being a father isn’t about perfection, it’s about presence (and surviving cereal explosions). Joey Lauren Adams returns as Layla, now a sharp, no-nonsense force of reason who isn’t about to let Sonny off the hook. As the duo stumbles through tantrums, teacher conferences, and failed bedtime routines, they also rediscover the meaning of family.
